Healing Chi Kung These Chi Kung practices are some of the oldest healing exercises ever recorded, ideal for all ages and abilities. Included are Ten Taoist Chi Kung Exercises The Eight Chi Kung, Eight Pieces of Brocade, and Iron Shirt Chi Kung. Beneficial for healing practitioners or those who wish to access internal energy. Thursdays, 7:00 - 8:00 pm Tao Yin (Taoist Yoga) Tao-Yin exercises help your internal life force, or Chi, to circulate more freely, for the purpose of refreshing, attuning, adjusting and regenerating your personal energy. All the Tao-Yin movements are based on ancient spiritual development. Taoist Yoga floor postures stretch the difficult-to-reach psoas muscle, calm the mind, open energy channels, and relieve stress. An important aspect of Tao-Yin is that it has alternating phases of activity and relaxation. During the relaxation phase you will learn to feel and gently guide the Chi flow to specific areas of your body. You will learn to absorb the nutrition from the air and the surrounding energy so you can open each cell to the fresh vitality of the universal force. This practice will help you relieve any energy stagnancy. Instructor: Karin Sorvik Thursdays, 8:00 -9:00 pm Ongoing classes until March 2009
Workshops thru August 2009 Workshop Sizes are Limited - Preregistration is Required.
The Vital Energy Map — building our immune system Saturday 1/31/2009 – Saturday 5/30/2009 5 Saturdays over 5 months — 10:00 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day
Vital energy is the means by which all our physical systems work. VITAL ENERGY IS LIFE. It is the electricity that charges each cell of our body. The Chinese call it CHI, that heavenly energy that keeps us alive. In this series of classes we will learn how to improve our immunity by increasing the energy in each of the five organs: kidney, lungs, liver, heart and spleen. By studying Dr Changs herbal formulas we will know what combinations to use to energize each system. We will discuss what regular foods in our diet either weaken or strengthens each organ. Internal exercise for each of the organs will be included.
Chi Nei Tsang II: Opening the wind gates Part A & B Part A: Saturday & Sunday, April 18 & 19, 2009 Part B: Saturday & Sunday. June 6 & 7, 2009 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day At this level we'll begin to incorporate the releasing of the winds caused by stagnation through the wind gates. Through simple manipulations of the abdominal area, we can release physical, emotional, and mental resistance that can cause illness. We'll integrate new knowledge and awareness of the 12 winds with Taoist five element theory and ancient techniques for balancing nutrition to regulate the flow of energies through the body. These powerful practices are long-lasting and can also be used for self-healing. Chi Nei Tsang is part of a larger Taoist paradigm of practice that includes meditation, Tai Chi, and Chi Kung. CNT techniques are easily adaptable to work on yourself as well; thereby offering an opportunity to both heal yourself and teach clients practices to better care for themselves. This system incorporates the Taoist understanding of the meridian systems of energy and the cultivation of energy to keep healthy and create vitality and will add a new dimension to your healing work. These precise techniques will enable energy blockages to be cleared in the abdominal area and within the internal organs long before it is noticed in the periphery of the body. Many techniques only work with the body's extremities and energy channels, far from the navel center and the organs. Chi Nei Tsang has been called a most "direct system." Working with the "tan tien", a source point for all meridians and energy channels.
Chi Nei Tsang I/ Masaje de órganos internos nivel I March 28 & 29 2009 Chi Nei Tsang is a Chinese Taoist system of healing massage that focuses on the navel center of the body. It is thought that the navel center is the primary area where imbalances occur that may cause negative emotions, stress, tension, congestion and ultimately illness. Using visceral manipulations and energy work CNT techniques provides a method to balance the energy and thereby improving many vital body functions. Practitioners use a variety of light or deep manipulation techniques to aid in restoring improved function within the internal organs, connective tissue, tendons, muscles, lymph, nerve and endocrine system. Chi Nei Tsang is part of a larger Taoist paradigm of practice that includes meditation, Tai Chi, and Chi Kung. Working with the "tan tien", a source point for all meridians and energy channels. Healing Love/Amor Curativo April 4 & 5 2009 The Taoist practice of sexual cultivation focuses on integrating the divine or subtle energies within the human body with the goal to achieving a dynamic balance of opposing energies of Yin and Yang. The highly practical Taoists proposed that one would begin with the most accessible energy at hand, namely the sexual energy, using this as a springboard to higher and more subtle realms of evolution The Art of the bedchamber is an ancient practice that allows people to acknowledge the true nature of sex and the magical current that resides within us. It is a highly accessible course designed for both singles and couples bringing an awareness and wisdom to the art of Taoist Sexology as well as providing a practice to develop a deeper and more profound sense of intimacy, ecstasy and unity, alleviating sexual frustration, boredom, impotency, anorgasmia, premature ejaculation and achieving radiant health.
